Literature and theater
In the Hellenistic era, a lot of literature was made. There were many writers. People payed for writers work. Appolonius was a popular writer. He was from Rhodes. Many citizens and even kings had payed for his poems.
Another popular writer in the Hellenistic era was Theocritus. He wrote many short poems about the wonderful things of nature. Soon after Greece was getting popular with literature, they made a theater in the middle of Athens for plays. It started to be more of funny plays instead of poems about nature. Menander was the person who made and came up with these funny plays. He lived from 343 B.C to 291 B.C.. He was very popular and everyone was very sad that he died. The plays and stories that he wrote are still told today and he, now, is told in stories that we share with family and friends.
